Collapse in a Mine in Elazığ

Elazığ’s Palu district near Kayaönü Village, a collapse occurred in the mine. The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources stated that all the workers trapped underground were rescued in a statement made by the ministry on February 26 around 10.00 in the morning.

It was reported that initially 4 miners were affected by the collapse in the chrome mine owned by Polay Mining. While one miner rescued himself, the gendarmerie, 112 Emergency Health, and AFAD teams, who arrived at the scene, announced that they rescued the other 3 miners.

Governor Ömer Toraman stated in his announcement that the first rescued worker was being treated standing, and the other workers were transferred to the hospital, and there was no vital danger. While the cause of the collapse is not yet known; Governor Toraman stated that investigations regarding the matter have also been initiated.
